Helping employers find their finish line

My approach to business success is much the same as my approach to personal health. I’ve never been interested in exercise for the sake of exercise, so I gravitate toward sports that allow me to be active while working toward a larger goal. I’m an avid rock climber and have completed multiple marathons and triathlons. I was also once the 27th-ranked racquetball player in the world. In all cases, these activities have required me to set a goal, then put in the work required to get to the finish line. In my personal life, that might mean the top of a challenging, multi-pitch climb. In business, it means using benefits to create value for agents, employers and their workforce.

I have been creating that value for business owners my entire professional career. Prior to joining IFC in 2022, I spent 26 years as an employee benefits specialist with Horizon Agency and ran a TPA, administering flexible spending accounts for clients. Through those years, I developed a passion for helping employers identify and introduce the benefits their employees need, want, and will appreciate.

Whether I’m working directly with employers or supporting contracted agents, building that value requires understanding a company’s philosophy, values, and employee base. For example, would an employer appreciate the opportunity to provide fully-funded health coverage for employees and their spouses? Would employees rather have reimbursement for a gym membership or a more comprehensive insurance package? Answering those questions requires working closely with clients and being available as a resource when questions arise.

IFC understands the value of setting and accomplishing goals, and they give me the resources I need to support employer clients and contracted agents, while also finding time to get out and attack that climb, run that race, or just spend time with my family.
